Filipina & Mexican Women Invited to Participate!

Research on effects of stress, discrimination, and weight

Arpana Gupta, PhD, G. Oppenheimer Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience, is conducting a study on the effects of stress and discrimination in Mexican and Filipina women.

You may be eligible if you:
  • Premenopausal female of Mexican or Filipina ancestry*
  • Between the ages of 18 to 50 years
  • Right-handed
  • Not pregnant or nursing
  • No significant neurological, psychological or other health history

*MUST be of 100% Mexican or 100% Filipina ancestry, and in the U.S. for at least the last 2 years

Study participation consists of:
  • Two (2) in-clinic visits (including 1 brain MRI)
  • Two (2) stool samples
  • One (1) blood sample
  • Online questionnaires about diet and mood
  • Optional follow-up visits at three (3) and six (6) months
Compensation:
  • Earn up to $675 ($285 for baseline; $195 for each additional follow up appointment) 
  • Free parking provided
