Post-Doctoral Position Available
One post-doctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Sylvie Bradesi, PhD, in the UCLA Department of Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases, Center for Neurobiology of Stress. The current research programs focus on three areas: 1.    Characterization of the role of spinal glia in the effect of chronic psychological stress on visceral pain in rats. 2.    Role of Chronic stress in visceral fat-related changes in insulin signaling and gut motility in rats. 3.    Neuroimmune Factors in the CNS and Co-Morbid Fear, Depression and Alcohol Consumption: an animal model of PTSD. Applications are invited from PhD/MD candidates with a strong background in both in vitro and in vivo experimentation. Experience working with western blotting, RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, handling rats, recording and analysis of physiological and behavioral parameters is desired for this position. Ability to perform survival surgeries is required. Good oral and written communication skills are needed in order to communicate with PI and other collaborators.
